I have windows 98SE and I am trying to upgrade to a faster computer. When I put it
all together and put the old hard drive into the new computer, I waited 30 minutes
just for it to boot up and then it recognized the new motherboard updated it and
restared and took another 30 min to reboot. But, once I put the hard drive back in
the old computer it boots normally. What is it I need to do in order to swap my hard
drive to a new faster computer?

The first time you boot in the new pc, it looks at the hardware to see
if it has all the software loaded ie drivers for the mb, sound card
etc, it takes quite a while to do all this looking, after it's done it
will take a few boots
to settle down and not be looking at the hardware .

you need to boot to the new pc and look at the devices in device
manager
se if any have a red exclamation mark if so you will have to load the
drivers
manually.
