I use Windows 98 Second Edition and I seem to be having problems with
dragging my icons on the desktop area and I'm also having trouble selecting
my icons with the mouse because the dotted square appears for just a split
second then disappears.

I appreciate any help on resolving this problem. Thanks.

Not sure if 98 supports this but try right click on blank place on
desktop, put arrow on "arrange icons by", then the only thing that should
be checked is "align to grid". See if that helps.

For your first question, yes, I do appear to be having a problem with my
computer clock because when I reset the time and click the OK button, the
Date/Time Properties window freezes so I have to press Ctrl+Atl+Del to close
the window, but my modem works pretty good; and for your second question,
yes, I just recently formated my hard drive and reinstalled windows 98; and
your last question, I need ALL the help I can get so that's why I post to
multiple newsgroups.
So do you know how that can be resolved in addition to the icon problem?

Mark, you've had some weird problems with Win98 including the clock and
modem problems. Have you done a complete reinstall of Windows starting
with a formatted disk in recent years?

And why did this need to be posted to so many newsgroups?
