Whenever I shut down Windows 98 SE, it stops with the following
message:
Locate free PCI Resources for Creative Audio Card
Press any key to continue
and then it shuts down.
I read somewhere that I could edit the DOSSTART.BAT file to take care
of this. I put a REM in front of
C:\PROGRA~1\CREATIVE\SBLIVE\DOSDRV\SBEINIT.COM
which was the only line except @echo off that wasn't already REMed. I
saved the file. Did a shutdown and the message still appeared. I
went back into DOSSTART.BAT and the REM that I put in had disappeared.
I then REMed it out again, moved the line down with the other REMed
lines, and saved it. I immediately edited the file again and all the
changes I made were gone.
Why can't I save changes to this file?
Or does anyone have a solution to fix this annoying but harmless
problem?
Thanks,
Debbie
