Adaptec DirectCD Wizard

Hello,

I have a CD-RW with the Adaptec DirectCD Wizard software installed.
Upon bootup, it shows up in the systray. I want as little as possible
when I boot up. How can I prevent it from loading at boot up, or do I
have to let it start at boot up?

I tried the Startup folder - no sign. I checked properties - the only
button that might make sense was the "Display Adaptac DirectCD startup
banner". But that will only prevent the banner from showing up.

Do I have any choices here?

Adaptec puts an entry in the registry: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\
Current Version\Run

You can use msconfig and uncheck it as ByTor mentioned, which will switch
the directory entry to Run-, or you can delete the directory entry.

Do I have any choices here?

There are a number of programs that let you control what gets started.

Try Google with "startup" as an entry. I'd give you directions here,
but many of the download sites change frequently.
