I am running a Win98SE machine. RAM=256MB.

On startup, even without having any user-app loaded, RUNDLL32 crashes
(in technical terms, "causes an invalid page fault") !

Here's the error:

RUNDLL32 caused an invalid page fault in
module RUNDLL32.EXE at 017f:0040104f.

Just what's going on ?

I've run all types of syschecks on the system and there's appearingly
not an error that I can find, but still, the RUNDLL32 crashes
everytime I boot up the machine.

I am afraid something that I'm not aware of is broken.

Can anyone help me, please ?

Thanks in advance, and Happy New Year !

You did not mention running SFC = System File Checker.
You can use this to recopy this file from your CD
to c:\windows.

Beware multiple posting. It is especially wasteful
if you did not look in this NG for earlier posts
concerning this file: 56 since Nov. 8.
